Market overview of serviced apartments in Germany
According to our current market research, there are currently over 44,000 serviced apartments* in Germany (as of March 2023). The supply in Germany has therefore more than doubled in the last ten years. We have recorded a market growth of at least another 14,000 units by 2025. This makes serviced apartments with a range of services and aparthotels a particularly sustainable form of accommodation within the hospitality sector.
The enormous growth illustrates the unabated demand for this popular alternative to hotels. The advantages for temporary living compared to stays in hotels are obvious:
- Due to the obligatory kitchen (or kitchenette), self-catering is possible at any time, independent of restaurant times.
- In a serviced apartment you can enjoy your privacy without having to do without hotel-like services.
- For stays of one month or more, the overnight rates are up to 50 % lower than those of hotels in a comparable category
