Culture and tourism tax of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg:
In Hamburg, a culture and tourism tax (*KTT) is levied on private and business-related hotel stays. The assessment basis is the net overnight price (excluding breakfast or other services) per guest per night. This culture and tourism tax, which ranges from €1.28 to €10.27 per guest per night, is calculated separately and shown on the invoice.
All guests are subject to the tax, including minors and students, day visitors, and business travelers.
For stays of up to 27 nights, the total amount must be paid upon arrival at the latest, and credit card details must be provided upon booking. For stays of 28 nights or more, the first month's rent and a security deposit of €500.00 are due five days before arrival.
For stays of several months, the first month's rent is due five days before arrival, with subsequent payments due monthly in advance, up to five days before the new month (D-5).
Declarations of assumption of costs on the booking company's letterhead can be accepted upon prior arrangement and with payment monthly in advance.

A confirmation of accommodation provider can be issued for stays of 28 nights or more. A deposit of €100.00 per person is required for the confirmation of accommodation provider, which will be refunded upon presentation of proof of change of address or deregistration.
