About the accommodation

Located in the heart of the city, baroque buildings and cobblestone streets line the way to the Engelwirt. A charming place steeped in history since 1686 and full of stories, it has been given a new lease of life. The building has 11 spacious and individually designed holiday apartments and a very special holiday home with inspiring design and selected art. A café and a regional shop with fine products invite you to arrive and enjoy.

The small town in the Bavarian Altmühltal valley impresses with its historical flair and strongly resembles a medieval town. A stroll through the old town, across old market squares and through the beautiful alleys is therefore well worth it. No wonder that many visitors are attracted to the town, through which both the Main-Danube Canal and the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal flow.

The Engelwirt Berching Aparthotel also reflects this historic flair in its interior design. The traditional wooden beams, ornate stucco ceilings, painted inlaid wooden floors or rosewood floors and designer furniture in the style of bygone times fit perfectly with the ambience of the small town. The rooms are designed with attention to detail in a characteristic style – but without compromising on modern comfort.

Each apartment has a private bathroom and an open-plan kitchen with two hotplates, a fridge-freezer, a coffee machine and a kettle, making it easy to prepare meals. Free WiFi is also available, of course. Outside the private rooms, all guests have access to a beautiful garden with a small café. A laundry room with a washing machine and dryer is available for cleaning clothes.

The Engelwirt Berching Aparthotel is located directly in the historic old town. The city's famous sights, such as the parish church of Maria Himmelfahrt (350 m), Hans-Kuffer-Park (450 m) and the parish church of St. Lorenz (450 m), are close by and can be reached on foot in no time. There is no train station in the town itself – the nearest station is in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz. From the ‘Berching Vorstadt’ bus stop, 500 metres away, the 515 bus takes you directly to the station in about 45 minutes. The Engelwirt Berching Aparthotel is also equipped to accommodate guests arriving by bicycle. A free bicycle garage with covered and lockable parking spaces is available. There are also e-bike charging stations for recharging batteries. However, bicycle parking spaces should always be reserved to ensure enough space for all guests. If you have a dog, that's no problem either. For an additional charge of €20 per night, four-legged companions are also welcome guests.
