The founders have completely, but carefully renovated two beautiful neo-classical villas in Hamburg and have turned them into 33 individual apartments. The famous designer Sibylle von Heyden furnished every apartment by combining tradition and modernity with a very personal touch, which included handmade furniture. The house was named „das FREYTAG,“ which sounds like the German word “Freitag” (free day). And everyone loves the Friday feeling with the anticipation of the coming weekend. And since the Gustav-Freytag Street is the next crossroad, the idea quickly caught on... As a guest, you’ll be able to experience a few hours of the FREYTAG feeling every day. You don not have to perform here. That is the job of the team.

The small yet dedicated team takes care of all the necessary services professionally and invisibly in the background. The room cleaning is done when you are not there. No one knocks at your door in the morning. There are no boring hotel-like standards, such as a minibar, tourist brochures and an automatic wake-up call service at das FREYTAG. Netflix and a quick organic pizza. The concierge knows the very best restaurants, cafes and bars of Hamburg like the back of his hand and will be happy to reserve you a table if you wish. For spontaneous craving or the desire for a special drink, you’ll definitely find something in the lobby. The 33 studios and one-bedroom-apartments on 4 floors each have their own and unique layout and are all furnished in slightly different styles. Each unit has a spacious living/sleeping area (of course, with telephone, TV and free wireless LAN), pantry with refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher.

The Alster Lake is just 2 minutes away on foot (whether you need a whole or half an hour to jog around it depends on how fit you are...). Winterhude is also within walking distance; the nearby neighbourhoods Eppendorf and Harvestehude are not far away, either. Getting to the centre and the central train station is only a matter of 10 minutes by bus or car, and the harbour is only 12 minutes away. Herbert-Weichmann Street takes you right to the airport in only 20 minutes.

Enjoy the surrounding area: the Alster Lake is outstanding for sailing, rowing or jogging, and around the corner at Muehlenkamp, life is buzzing with lots of cafes, restaurants and shops.
