On the 13th of October 2015 we were hosting another one of our workshops about Serviced Apartments, this time in the classy scenery of the AMANO Rooftop Conference Centre Berlin.
During a business breakfast with selected travel managers from national and international companies specific features about the industry were presented and contemporary definitions regarding the span of terms and concepts were discussed. The participants got a good overview about the current market situation, the differentiation in pricing models as well as up-to-date standards for our Serviced Apartments. Since 2014 the VDR is rewarding these apartments with the “Certified Serviced Apartment” seal.
The travel managers got a good chance to share their wishes and needs and it became clear that in most companies the special segment of Serviced Apartments is simply not established enough yet. Making it more public and integrating Serviced Apartments in companies’ travel guidelines will be the next step. Another really important topic was the ability to book short- and medium-stays online, perspectively long-stays as well. Apartmentservice is already working on a solution, however, no online tool will be able to substitute personal consulting as long-stays are always very complex and very emotional. Furthermore, the travel managers considered a unitary wording and cancelling conditions, expansive standardisation for bookings and also for accounting processes as extremely important.
Our new cooperation with AirPlus, presented by Mr. Neuß at the end of the workshop, got great feedback. AirPlus offers its customers the opportunity to simplify their travel invoices and to streamline administrative efforts. By using a unitary data format, AirPlus clearly summarises all expenses that occurred during travelling and leads to a win-win-situation – not only for the traveller but also for the company’s travel management.
What we learned from this workshop?
Even more motivation to manifest the world of Serviced Apartments in companies in order to allow all our existing and future clients a customised stay at their desired destination. In accordance with a professional and personal service that is free of charge it is the ideal platform for travel managers and travellers alike.
